About
Our local Rochester, USA-MN nonprofit organization seeks to improve the lives of immigrants and minorities suffering from breast cancer. We assist in providing an environment where patients and their families are supported by their community, medical personnel, fellow patients, and survivors. We value compassion, dignity, and impact.

Our Founder
Our founder, Hawa Camara, was diagnosed with an aggressive form of breast cancer in late 2017 after coming to the US for consultation from her home in the West African country of Guinea. She was treated at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN, and underwent multiple treatments, including a bilateral mastectomy, reconstructive surgery, proton beam radiation and chemotherapy during her cancer journey. In Hawa’s words, “I stood strong and held on, not just for me but for other immigrants like me. Today, in my humble opinion, the fight should be that no one should die without proper cancer care just because of their geographic location, stigma, or cultural barriers.”
In summer 2023 Hawa passed away, but to the end she advocated for herself and others through her personal magnetism and persistence, founding this nonprofit and another in her home country of Guinea as a way to help others.
